Ellen Duysen is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Public Health. She is the coordinator and outreach specialist for the Central States Center for Agricultural Safety and Health (CS-CASH), a NIOSH-funded agricultural safety center. Ellen’s educational background is in microbiology, biochemistry, and public health. In addition to working in research at UNMC for 29 years, Ellen has raised hogs, cattle, and three rascally boys on farms in Colorado and southwest Iowa. Life on the farm has given Ellen a clear understanding of the enumerable that producers and their families face daily. Today Ellen will discuss infectious diseases in agricultural workplaces, focusing on simple, inexpensive prevention measures.
