Marie Reed has 46 years of nursing experience including trauma and critical care and almost 18 years of public health nursing experience. She is an organizer and chair of ATeamV injury prevention coalition since 2007. Mrs. Reed is a charter member and chair of the Northeast Texas Brain Injury Coalition. She was elected to the Texas Injury Prevention Collaborative in 2017. Currently serving on the board of directors of Pineywoods Regional Advisory Council for Trauma Service Area G, she also serves on the board of directors of Pay Attention East Texas motor vehicle crash prevention coalition. She is a charter member of Save a Life Today suicide prevention coalition. Serving as presiding officer of Anderson County Child Fatality Review Team, a multi-disciplinary, state-directed team which reviews all deaths in Anderson County in children under the age of 18, she also assists two other rural counties as part of their CFRTs. She and her husband John raise beef cattle and hay on their ranch in Anderson County.
