Alexis T. Mason, M.D. is a native of Town Creek, Alabama. She counts it a blessing to be the third of four children, born to Patrick and Myra Mason. A lawn mower accident at the age of three that almost took her limb and life sealed her fate to join the community of medical professionals that are providing health care to rural America. She started her higher education journey becoming a graduate of the class of 2006 from Alabama A&M University. She then went on to the Rural Medical Scholars Program at the University of Alabama where she received her Masters in Human and Environmental Science in 2008, which propelled her into the University of Alabama School of Medicine where she received her medical degree in 2012. Following this term, she attended the University of Tennessee, Family Medicine program in Jackson, TN. for residency, which she completed in 2015. She then completed a fellowship in Behavioral Medicine at the University of Alabama. She practiced in Gordo and Greensboro, Alabama with Whatley Health Services as well as assisting with the School clinic in Aliceville, AL for about 3 years. Her interests include but are not limited to: psychiatric integration into primary care and rural medicine. She also enjoys most sports and activities, action movies, and cartoons. She was also the Acting/Interim Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Whatley Health Services, Inc. from April 2019- September 2019. She loves the Lord, her family, and her career. She is currently a family practice physician at Rogersville Family Care in Rogersville, AL. She has always enjoyed helping others and feels that she is currently on the right path to continue this endeavor, by merging faith and medicine as a vehicle of the Lord for healing the body, mind, and soul.
