The Future of Respiratory Protection and other Personal Protective Equipment

September 7, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

Respiratory protection week is september 7th through 10th in 2021.

In celebration of Respiratory Protection Week, join this webinar to learn more about respiratory protection!

During this presentation, speakers from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health’s (NIOSH) National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) will provide an overview of how novel and emerging technologies may be applied to respiratory protection and other types of personal protective equipment (PPE), the new role of PPE in non-traditional settings, and closing PPE gaps for underserved populations.

NIOSH supports the PPE needs of all occupational user groups, this includes developing methods to evaluate PPE and developing PPE performance requirements. The research conducted within NPPTL serves to push forward the state of science related to PPE and assessing the impact of PPE on the user’s protection and ability to performance tasks. The future of PPE requires NPPTL to capitalize on advancements in technologies and materials. It is additionally important that NIOSH support the use of PPE in non-traditional settings as well as the needs of historically underserved PPE user groups.

This webinar is brought to you by NIOSH.
