Deadline to apply: April 8, 2024
Through our sponsors’ generous support of the AgriSafe Nurse Scholar Program, we are able to provide free training to qualifying nurses serving rural, medically underserved areas. AgriSafe launched the program in 2018 to prepare nurses working in rural communities to meet the occupational needs of farmers and ranchers. Since then, we have trained 274 nurses across 41 states.
125 nurses will receive FREE access to the Nurse Scholar training. To be eligible to receive a scholarship, nurses must:
- Be employed by a rural health clinic, FQHC, government agency, nonprofit hospital or organization, or work in academia (nursing instructors, school nurses, etc.)
- Demonstrate an interest and ability to integrate learnings into their practices
- Preference will be given to applicants who provide care or nursing education to individuals in a rural and medically underserved area (or health professional shortage area), as defined by the Health Resources & Services Administration (click here to determine if your area is designated as rural and medically underserved).
Nurses providing care to populations in medically underserved counties that are designated rural are preferred, but not required. Preference will be given to nurses who provide care to rural populations.
Interested nurses must complete an online application by April 8, 2024. Once enrolled, the course must be completed by October 1, 2024. Applicants will be notified by April 15, 2024.
